Cross Cutter – 1 brush unit

Create authentic bandsaw textures and aged wood effects with precise and repeatable control. This machine combines a cross cutting unit with a brushing unit to produce distinctive surface structures while maintaining stable workpiece transport and consistent processing results.

The Cross Cutter is designed for creating distinctive surface effects on wooden workpieces where character, texture and natural-looking aging are desired.

Typical applications include:

  • Parquet flooring

  • Exterior wood elements

  • Furniture panels

  • Stair steps

  • Kitchen cabinets

  • Similar wooden components

The machine is also suitable for creating aged wood effects and adding character to wooden surfaces.

The machine combines a cross cutting unit with a brushing unit, allowing both structuring and brushing processes to be performed in a single pass. This combination enables manufacturers to create distinctive bandsaw effects or combine them with brushing to achieve unique surface finishes.

The integrated Trivec Tapper System enhances the natural appearance of the surface effects. Pneumatic shoes push down the cross cutter belt at random intervals, creating irregular patterns that closely resemble natural saw marks.

Operators can adjust parameters such as throughput speed, cross cutter speed, brush angle, brush type and cross cutter belt type. These settings allow the machine to create a wide range of surface textures and finishing effects.

The machine is equipped with a touchscreen control system that allows operators to easily adjust speeds, unit heights and processing parameters. Frequently used settings can be stored as programs for efficient and repeatable production.

An integrated high-grip conveyor ensures stable workpiece transport through the machine. Pressure rollers on each unit stabilize the workpieces during processing, allowing reliable treatment of both large and smaller components.

The brush unit features a heavy-duty motor with independently adjustable rotational speed and direction. Additional settings such as brush pressure, brush type, angle and conveyor speed allow operators to fine-tune the machine for specific applications.

The machine can be equipped with various cross cutter belts and brush types to achieve different visual effects and surface structures.

Benefits of the Cross Cutter - 1 brush unit

Consistent surface finish with controlled brushing

Sanding

“Controlled mechanical brushing used to open wood grain, remove machining residue, and achieve a consistent surface texture across boards and profiles.

Texturing

Texturing is used to level surfaces, remove machining marks, and prepare materials for further finishing or coating. Consistency becomes increasingly challenging as material variation and production speed increase.
