The challenge

The customer works with epoxy and reactive oils, where surface preparation is essential for achieving a consistent finish. At the same time, the process consisted of separate steps, each requiring handling and time. As a small operation, every extra step reduced efficiency and increased the risk of inconsistencies.

The approach

Instead of keeping brushing and coating as separate processes, an integrated line was developed. The brushing machine prepares the surface, followed directly by an all-in-one roller coater with two application sections and two brushing sections. A 2.5-meter conveyor between both machines allows the workpiece to stabilize after brushing before the coating is applied, ensuring the surface remains unaffected.

The result

The result is a smooth and continuous workflow from preparation to finishing. Workpieces move through the process without interruption, reducing handling and minimizing errors. Processing time is significantly reduced while maintaining a consistent, high-quality finish. The customer benefits from a more efficient operation without compromising on quality.
